Lebanon Warriors Youth Football League                      04/03/14

As a tribute and remembrance to Jarod, the Lebanon Warriors Youth Football League (LWYFL) has attached over 300 memorial decals to the helmets of all league players. This symbolic gesture has touched our hearts, and the hearts of many parents and players. In addition, they reserved Jarod's number (#81) for Jarod's older brother Jacob to wear.

Thank You.

At the season premier opening games, Steve Cochran President of the Lebanon Warrior Youth Football League, delivered a heartfelt announcement while maroon and white balloons were launched as a remembrance and tribute to Jarod.

Ladies and Gentlemen: May I have your attention please………
In December of last year the LWYFL lost a very special member of our program. Jarod Bennett was suddenly and tragically taken from our family just prior to the Christmas Holiday.

Jarod was very active in a variety of sports including soccer, baseball, skiing, running and enjoyed being in the water as well as searching for bugs on dry land. In 2003 Jarod decided to try football. Jarod enjoyed the game and the fun he had with his teammates and coaches. If it was outside then Jarod liked it.

Please take a moment to direct your attention to the helmets of every Lebanon player on the field. You’ll notice that each player in the LWFYL family is wearing a special decal to honor Jarod’s memory. The decal reflects Jarod’s #81 and the words "Never Forgotten" along with Jarod’s initials, which are all, located inside a white football. In addition to the decal Jarod’s friend and Jarod’s brother will be wearing #81 this season as a tribute to his memory.

Jarod may be missing from the field but his memory will live on in each of us, always.

As a tribute to such a wonderful little boy, and in the love and spirit of Jarod’s memory, his parents (Jim & Jenny Bennett) have decided to establish the "Jarod Bennett memorial fund". This fund will be used for a scholarship to assist eligible graduating students of Lebanon High School achieve their college ambitions and life goals.

Donations can be made at any Lebanon Citizens National Bank location or you can make your donations by visiting Jarod’s web site at www.the-bennetts.com. You can also find a link to the web site from our site at www.yourlebanonwarriors.com. Donations may also be made directly at our concession stand during the season.

Please stand and join me as we take a moment of silence to remember and honor Jarod. Your memory will forever live on in each of us……..

…..Thank you.
